Feeding Futures, One Child Daily

Welcome to Dunnis Foundation – inspiring hope by feeding young children to motivate them to attend school. Our initiative, Dunni Feeds, a legally registered NGO in Nigeria, transforms lives by ensuring every child receives a meal, encouraging school attendance as the foundation of a promising future.

Nourishing Minds, One Meal at a Time

According to UNICEF Nigeria, ‘One in every three children are out of school in Nigeria and more than 50% of girls are not in school’. Poverty remains the most significant barrier to education. Dunni Feeds is an initiative that aims to feed a child daily to encourage young people to go to school. Education is the bedrock of our society and a stepping stone to a brighter future. In encouraging young children to go to school, they gain valuable life skills for the rest of their lives regardless of their path after their primary education. Every young child must be allowed to acquire this knowledge and skill.

This initiative works by feeding young children in primary education every week until the end of their academic year to incentivise them to attend school.

Empowering Education Through Nutritional Support

Explore our impactful initiatives in brief.

Nourishing

Providing daily snacks to encourage attendance. We currently offer a variety of biscuits, sweets and drinks. At the moment, it is difficult to provide fruits which are a healthier alternative because of their shelf life.

Community Engagement

Involving communities in educational progress. In January, we contacted radio stations to collaborate to promote the initiative to a broader audience in Kogi State.

Sustainable Impact

Ensuring long-term benefits for children. Ultimately, giving them a reason to be happy to learn.

Life Skills

Teaching life skills that last a lifetime. The ability to speak concisely and practise critical thinking is built on a solid foundation in primary education.

Educational Support

Assisting with resources and mentorship. We have also paid the fees of students who could not meet the financial requirements of education.

How can I support this initiative?

You can donate:

  • Money to help sustain our feeding program.
  • School supplies.
  • Packaged food items.
  • Story books.

Why is this initiative important?

It encourages education by alleviating hunger.

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, “Two-thirds of children (0–17) are multidimensionally poor according to the National MPI, and half (51%) of all poor people are children”. As a result, these poor children lack the intellectual stimulation needed for early childhood development.
